What improvemets does PSP Go! offer over PSP 3000?

i am buying it as a "real portable" multimedia device (MP3, MP4, games).  sony has done a pretty good job to come up this version of PSP that gamers been asking for (except the 2nd analog stick and PRICE).  i also want to prepare myself for the transition from PSP to PSP2, that is, stop buying UMD games and take whatever Sony is going to offer for the UMD goodwill program (i assume it won't last forever).  i think it's fair to assume PSP2 can play PSP games and won't have UMD drive

if the "success" of PSP Go in Japan leads to the release of FFVIII and FFIX on PSN store.  for me, PSP Go worths the $249 price tag.

that is a damn good point if the psp2 has no UMD drive current psp owners will be f**ked (including me) if they want backwards campatablity
