The relevant question is what failure rate from RROD (or anything) of currently produced consoles?

Microsoft, with its Arcade unit price point and some games (esp. on XBLA) is trying to position itself as attractive to potential Wii owners. But it is doubtful that such casual consumers would stay with the consoles after the first failure.

That is why this is still important.

That is the issue I have with lame articles like this, it's very cheap publicity and doom mongering with absolutely zero statistics to backup their "news".  What was the failure rates of the original launch 360's, then the Falcon's and finally the new Jasper's.  They don't know any of this as they've never done any proper statistical analysis to get to the bottom of the problems.

Next bit not relevant to the quote above might I hastily add.

You can spot the pro PS3 camp pratically dribbling whenever a RROD thread arises as they get a chance to constantly dig at the 360, yet whenever articles appear regarding the PS3's poorer software sales and overall sales in general they turn around and say more PS3 is doomed threads.  You're the worst kind of hypocrits on this site.  Unless there is actually some "news" released then why not bump one of the 1000's of previous RROD threads, oh thats right you get no cheap VG$'s for posting a inflammatory article then, also this is Microsoft news not gaming news.
