Amongst Hack'n'slash fans Ninja Gaiden Series is considered the pinnacle. Not for it's story ( GOW is much better story wise ) but the gameplay is so much better. The combat is a real art, as is the mastery of each weapon kind. Not to mention the insane speed of the game. GOW is a good series, but it's alot easier and no way as intricate as NG in the combat ( which is the actual point of a Hacker game. )

BTW I didn't like GOW that much. I am more of a DMC guy and If you bothered looking at my profile I bought Ninja Gaiden Sigma and I'll take NG for GOW any day. Just like what Akvod said.
