I have had a radical epiphany. Microsoft absolutely needs a matching title in the genre or at least a dominant one. The reality is it goes beyond the game this is the only genre where Sony is still the leader. Microsoft locked down shooters both first and third. They locked down role playing games both Western and Japanese. They locked down core racers. While Nintendo has locked down the genres of platforming, alternative racing, fighting, and family gaming. In other words Sony has a very thin slice left.
That would be like settling the argument, but the title could not be a God of War clone. It needs to be something in the same genre but radically different. It wouldn't get any respect for cloning. In the end Microsoft doesn't really need to. Except of coarse for the purpose of finishing the job.
