Good points, I just have a couple of thoughts: 1. Regarding the 'one master, one apprentice' rule, you've got to remember that both Palpatine and Vader were planning to betray the other and have Luke for themselves. In Episode 5, he tries to get Luke to join him by saying they'd overthrow Palpatine and rule as father and son, and when Luke defeats Vader in Episode 6, the Emperor tries to get him to kill him. So, either way, the rule would still have been enforced. 2. Don't you remember your first twelve seconds of life? What's wrong with you? 3. Luke embraces the dark side to save his friends who he thought were going to die in that space battle, and Anakin embraces it to save Padme who he thought was going to die as well. 4. A few more discrepancies between the prequels and originals: - In Episode 4, when Obi-Wan gives Luke his lightsaber, he said that Anakin wanted him to have it when he was old enough. However, Anakin never even mentioned Padme was pregnant to Obi-Wan, who took the lightsaber from Ani's dying corpse. - Midi-chlorions 5.

Oh dear god. You 2 seem to either not understand Star Wars or miss loads of points. And take things at face value.
I'll explain.
The quote between Leia and Luke above is NOT out of place. How so? Luke never knew his mother. That is correct. Leia never knew her either. But Leia had been feeling the force before Luke did. Leia tells Luke she had always known that she had the ability in Episode 6. The feelings she refers to are due to the force. She talks about Images and feelings, not touch, taste, smell etc. You should go read the background novels for more info.
And in Episode 6 when in the world did Luke embrace the darkside to kill either Darth Vader or the emperor? Palpatine ( The Emperor ) states outright in Episode 6 that Luke is to strike down Vader to take his father place at the emperors side. So yes their will be 1 master and 1 apprentice. Vader knew it would be either Luke or him dying as only 1 apprentice can exist.
Now you believe there are all these holes. There are a few, but the ones you mention don't exist. Do some research first. I agree with the whole special effects side. Everything looked to clean and more modern than 4 5 and 6. But I believe this was done for modern day audiences.
And finally the point about Obi Wan saying to Luke that his father wanted him to have the lightsaber fits in perfectly well with everything else Obi Wan told Luke about his father. He was hiding the truth. He wanted Luke to fell that his father loved him and was some part of his life. How do you think Luke would react if Obi Wan said " this was your fathers, I picked it up after hacking him down. " Obi Wan told Luke what he needed to here at that time. Obi Wan hid alot from Luke. Saying the Lightsaber was a gift from his father helped the other illusions Obi Wan told him.

Way to remove all the mystery from the Force... energy field that surrounds us and binds us, my ass...
