It's not very hard, but it's annoying that you would need to play through once to unlock the Insane difficulty mode. On your first time through, play co-op if you have a second controller, using the second person mainly to revive if you die. The game has not so forgiving checkpoints and the chapters are kind of long, but it's not too difficult (especially considering you get a power in the game that lets you see where almost every single enemy is, and that same power will revive you if you jump somewhere to your death).
