I fucken hope there's a way to get skip all that if it is a common spell. I'd hate to sit through that 1000 times (the novelty will wear out after the 10th or so). And is it me or is the logo a FF ripoff?

Still can't wait for this game, but damn it easy to pick on it :)

Same. The cinematic seems to drag on, and I also hope there's an option to remove the zoom when a character attacks.

I didn't mind the zooming that much, I assume it was a special move as he produced a can of 'whoop-ass' right after it, so long as it's non-interactive I can tolerate it. But that spell is far too long, at the very least they should introduce a way to skip to the damage portion 'ala' FFVII: Crisis Core where you can skip the summoning cinematic. Otherwise I can feel the fustration mounting as I progress through the game and it extend itself by another 20 hrs due to long spellcasting cutscene.

@Oulawauron/Shadowblind: With regards to on-screen encounters, I believe the first game to use them was Zelda II: The Adventure of Link; so it actually went way back, but arguably the first to impliment them similiar to what we see in games like Tale & FFXIII is actually Mother 2 / Earthbound.
