I didn't mind the zooming that much, I assume it was a special move as he produced a can of 'whoop-ass' right after it, so long as it's non-interactive I can tolerate it. But that spell is far too long, at the very least they should introduce a way to skip to the damage portion 'ala' FFVII: Crisis Core where you can skip the summoning cinematic. Otherwise I can feel the fustration mounting as I progress through the game and it extend itself by another 20 hrs due to long spellcasting cutscene.
@Oulawauron/Shadowblind: With regards to on-screen encounters, I believe the first game to use them was Zelda II: The Adventure of Link; so it actually went way back, but arguably the first to impliment them similiar to what we see in games like Tale & FFXIII is actually Mother 2 / Earthbound.
