| hunter_alien said: Actually no... I dont hate it, I played all of them except Wars, and I have to say that when it comes to singleplayer the game only went lower with 2 and tough it went up on 3 it never got back to the first ones quality... The problem is that except the multiplayer which is well put together but not outstanding, nothing is special about the game... its a good game, but I wouldent call it great. It has a fairly generic storlyline and main character, it brought nothing new to the table that previous shooters havent, and thats all. I dont hate it, I just find it utterly overhyped... |
Exactly. I don't hate it, just think that it is overhyped for what it is. Really, it is not just Halo i don't care for. I dislike most dual analog shooters. I can't aim accurately anough with them. I had no problems with Perfect dark or Goldeneye. I liked the few minutes of The Conduit that I played at Gamecrazy from a control perspective- but have not bought it yet. Aiming with a mouse does not bother me either. Ps3 Orange box is perhaps the only fps that I have cared about lately. I am tired of cake jokes, and Portal was short but at least it feels like a different game from the rest of genre. Actually it is kinda it's own genre of fp puzzle solving or something like that. It came with 2 other solid games as well. Halo 3 just kinda feels the same to me as the other stuff in the genre.
IT could be generational really. I grew up with platformers, then fighting games , then rpg were everywhere. Fps is just a newer trend that never really struck my fancy.
