yeah I agree I don't really think the graphic were that bad... it's just the artistic environement of halo is one of a kind and is hard to visually improve beside the lightning effects which they nailed all the way over what was available at the time... and most will agree with that....

now please no tactical improvement... there is a reason I don't like all those real soldier FPS such as COD, MW, you already have a bunch of good tactical FPSs for your taste guys leave us some highly jacked up action for us who don't care about discretion and just care about blasting head first with a surgical accuracy and ultra fast reaction time...

I have a question when is reach suppose to take place anyway ???? i mean in the story line.... because we could have one where we start more as a masterchief rookie doing our classes going through all the hard training etc... with the RPG touch being more like a militarry skill boot camp before attacking real combat action once you attributed your points to diff skilss such as targeting, speed, stamina, explosive, healing, sight, stealthness, etc etc... well all the stuff we can think off.. it's just an exemple... after that you could mount your masterchief squads for the main campain and use your caracter in multiplayer... changing a lot to the mix.... or maybe even having them improve your skill depending on how you play you gameplay style..... which would make even more sens and help to build co op teams, team death match and help with the matchmaking to be accurate... i mean it's just an idea...

but please don't touch the soul of the game... being a bad ass high paced FPS.... I want my frag time like back in the days with quake :D

The events of Reach are immediately prior to those of Halo:CE (some could conceivably be taking place during).

When the first Halo game began, the Pillar of Autumn had just blind jumped into covenant space, fleeing the battle of Reach. The biggest firefight of the war was going on on the ground and one of (if not THE) biggest space battle of the war at the same time. Reach was humanity's primary military planet, and aside from Master Chief, ALL of the Spartans were on the ground to defend it.

@OP As for my thoughts on how to make Reach fresh - make it larger scale. It's not Halo 4, and I doubt there's enough content to make it a Halo Prequel game. My guess is a primarily multiplayer game with servers - something along the lines of Planetside. It would make sense. The actual battle of Reach was a massive, planetwide invasion of humanity's most defended world, with accompanying fleet-to-fleet battle above. If ever there was a game in the Haloverse to support massive conflicts, large team battles, in a semi-persistant world with the ability to pilot transports, drop allies into combat, capture respawn points and bases, etc, this is it. Since I first played Halo:CE and Planetside, I've wished they'd make a Halo-based base like it. I think this will be it, it's perfect.
