- Remember how Nintendo talked about connectivity between the DS and the Wii...

- Remember how Microsoft showed so much potential with their live anywhere, console, computer, mobile phone all connected...

Seems that Both Nintendo and Microsoft under delivered, infact they didn't deliver anything at all.
Right now Live anywhere simply doesn't exist, partly because Live on PC bombed, trying to charge for features that PC gamers have always gotten for free, talk about a royal fuck up, and I think this affected this live anywhere they showed long ago, but at least the live service thus far is doing great.

On the Nintendo front, well there hasn't been any decent connectivity between the wii and DS apart from that demo station thing which looks liked it bombed before it came out, partly becuase you lost the demo once the DS was turned off, seems like this feature was better suited to the DSi, but apart from that there has been little to no connectivity at all. Such a waste though because the potential for virtual console games to be downloaded to a DSi and played is there but they don't seem to care.

Sony on the other hand has really delivered the PS3 + PSP connectivity, Remote play is such an awesome feature and the fact that you can play some PS3 games on your PSP via this feature is pretty cool, hell if you wanted you could remote play from another house to your PS3 via the internet, plus you can download PS1 games and they work natively on both the PS3 and PSP, hell even if you don't own a PS3 you still have access to the PSN store on the PSP to download the games. One can also manage move music from the PS3 to PSP and vice versa.
Sony have really delivered the "live anywhere" feature with the PSP and PS3 connectivity, and it's awesome.

It seems that this however is an under appreciated feature which essentially delivers what the other 2 proposed but never accomplished, I guess it has to be said that Sony them selves haven't really advertised it to let people know, I mean it's so simple to set up. But then again how does one advertise this feature to begin with? clearly it's something the Sony marketing machine hasn't come to grasp with or it's overlooked, kinda sad to be honest cause it's so frigging awesome.

In any case, this sort of came to me while I was actually using remote play, watching American dad off my portable hard which is connected to my PS3, my tv was being used by another person.

Anyway, what do you guys think about remote play and it's awesomeness?
