Well it depends how much production of Slim PS3 costs them (and how much the development of it cost overall) price-cut is still a risky business for Sony since they havent made profit for so long. If Slim can slightly improve PS3's performance then i think they will be reluctant to cut the price hasty.
Also GT 5 is key for Sony in Europe and America , Uncharted 2 looks good but it wont move any hardware (if KZ2 struggled, then uncharted will as well) so maybe PS3 slim + GT5 can do some wonders for them, and make some nice money for the company.

Well think about New Super Mario Bros Wii this game will outsell any PS3 game this generation,and it could be as succesful as Mario Kart.
