MW2 will be one of the best selling games this year. They introduced higher price point because they do know it and they want to take an advantage of such situation. It is not about loosing money but about earning more. Other publishers didn't go this way despite weak pound/strong dollar.
Also MW2 was definitely cheaper to develop since they already have engine etc.
