I think it was obvious that it was going to be used as a navigation interface amongst other things and that was one reason why I think most people missed its significance. Patcher has underestimated its other functions if he thinks it will become largely navigation interface mainly because it supports much more. We are only scratching the surface and I think we will be suprised by how resourceful the development houses will be once they get to grips with it. It has the potential to exceed anything currently in the motion world and so it is probably unfair to compare it to the wiimote although the wiimote should be praised for showing the world that motion control technology was more than just a gimick. |
Although I do believe that there are incredible avenues for creativity with Natal, motion controls in general, so far only a handful of developers/games have shown the ability to expand the controls and experiences. OR the desire to want too, I just find it hard to believe that NOW we have motion controls with XB360 & Sony that all of a sudden developers will "GET" motion controls...
The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!
...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?
