Well, I thought we were talking US governments since this thread is about the US government. All I'm saying, is that the government is incompetent when it comes to being smart about money. NY State (where I live) never gets the budget done on time (usually months late), and is always spending more than they make. Again, the US government is incapable of balancing a budget sheet which needs to hapen for a bank to keep its doors open.

If any government I was under managed to break even in their budget (averaged over years) I would be estatic. There is really no reason for the government to save money, and there is no reason for them to go into debt either. To bad all they want to do is spend so people are happy and vote for them.

Ok, but I believe it is the situation of every governements on earth.
