It won't ever take off anyway. Not untill everybody can get download speeds of up to 5meg.

And Call of Duty 4 Modern warfare sales were much higher on the Xbox 360 than the PC. (aimed at your other post)

 

How many PS2 owners are able to play Halo 3? And how many Wii owners are able to play MGS4? PC gaming has an incredibly varied market, with MMOs, traditional games, dozens of niche markets, microtransactions games, subscriptions.

Onlive doesn't need a PC if you buy Onlive's console, but that console will play PC games, so it will always add up to PC gaming. The twist is that instead you would be playing PC games in a console, in your living, stealing space from Wii/PS3/360.

He also mentioned a graph produced by a site that has no direct line to Live data. They are basing there claims on members of a site. Very inaccurate.

Ever heard of this? Even though I can't be certain it sold 10 millions on PC, you also can't be certain it sold less than X360's because there's no conclusive evidence of that too. The only thing we can be certain of is that it definitely didn't sell little because it was the Top selling game on Steam and D2D for months, it still shows up on several DD Top sellers lists, and Activision said, nearly a year later, that it was still one of the 5 top selling PC games.

It also rivaled Sims and WoW (you know, those +10 millions sellers) titles on retail top seller lists for over a year, except COD4 had the advantage of being sold on Digital stores, while Sims and WoW pretty much were not. Even now COD4 is still 10th in Steam's Top Selling Action Games.

I have explained the reasons as to why I believe COD4 PC sales are extremely high several times, I have no need to explain it again.
