^ No, there is no competition for operating system software. That is a monopoly and if you wanted evidence of this just look at the continuing issues of licensing and anticompetitive lawsuits thrown at the company.
The reason Apple never got anywhere is bcoz of MS "agreements" with retailers. The reason Netscape went out of business was bcoz of anti competitive behavior.
Google might be gargantuan but from my perspective theyre a fairer choice than MS. We'll see what happens after W7 releases bcoz that might actually be one of MS's last big os release. I wonder whether Google can sue MS for excluding the choice over operating systems, if for example you could just download it are you easily able to just reinstall or what.
