Why exactly? Their shirts didn't say "You're going to burn in hell" or anything like that. I honestly, do not know who could be offended by this.

I don't know why they ban political t-shirts, but it is probably because they don't want to cause controversy. If you had an away match against Iran, it wouldn't be a good idea for FIFA to allow players to wear t-shirts saying 'I belong to Jesus'. 

Iran was probably THE worst possible choice to pick.

Recently most of team Iran wore politcal armbands during matches to support the guy who was wronged in the elections.
