Before I start I'd just like to say that I loved Forza 2 and that Forza 3 is going to be great. I'd also like to say that Turn 10 and Microsoft have brought this on themselves with their big mouths. You can't go making ridiculous claims without having substance to back it up. I'l do a simple list to show how from a standpoint of features, Forza aint the one that's 'definitive.'

GT5 VS FORZA 3

More Cars vs Less Cars Forza3 1mln polygons per car in Forza 3 vs 200k polygons per car in GT5 and how do you know how many car GT5 will have? not to mention if you we all know that PD is duplicating all their cars many times over and over and over with different paintjobs. Forza 3 have 400 ORIGINAL cars how many ORIGINAL cars GT5 will have?

More Tracks vs Less Tracks how do you know that there will be more tracks in GT5? Forza 3 will have 100 tracks on day one.

1080p vs 720p real 720p in Forza 3 vs fake 1080p in GT5

60fps vs 60fps

World Rally vs No Rally 24h Le Mans VS No 24h Le Mans

Weather System vs No Weather System was it confirmed by PD? no.

Night Racing vs No night racing was it confirmed by PD? no.

Top Gear Test Track vs No Top Gear Test Track (This is important to some UK folks) ugh again, you want me to list all the tracks that won't be in GT5 and will be in Forza 3?

Nascar (although prolly only 16 cars) vs No Nascar again, 24h Le Mans VS No 24h Le Mans

Can be used with alot of steering wheels vs Can be used with a few steering wheels what kind of argument is this?

16 cars on track vs 8 cars on track ugh, 8 cars with rollover with awesome AI and with the best physics you can get on the consoles vs 16 cars with bad AI and psx physics

Little car exterior customization vs Full exterior customization still no confirmation by PD

Almost CGI graphics (the trailer was 'real') vs Amazing graphics again have you seen GT5 gameplay? no

No/Little tyre deformation vs Tyre deformation which means it's not a racing sim http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ap1nna2xibY

Probably little damage vs Full Damage and Car rolls

..........Doesn't look all that 'definitive' to me.

And, then people who think they are experts will say...'but Forza handles more realistically, it feels like a real car' etc etc. Although personally I fell like Forza is more 'arcadey' I rekon it does a very good job of this, but it's not as if Gran Turismo isn't the real deal.

Here's a video you should watch showing how realistic GT5 is. It's a video from Prologue but it does a good demonstration of how accurate things are in GT. This carries through to all cars, not just the F1 car. I hope Turn 10 have learnt their lesson.

i say 1 thing Maclaren F1 Simulator - Turn 10 is the only developer that had a chance to work with it during Forza 3 development and used many of its assets in Forza 3. night and weather effects you can add as DLC just like in Burnout Paradise. ISR called Forza 3 first console racing sim that is on par with pc sims. and sorry, but Gran Turismo series is as realistic as PGR and Grid - GT is arcade simulator unlike Forza series. so yeah Forza 3 IS definitive racing simulator this gen since Simbin won't be doing Race Pro 2.
