reminds me of my mom, who consistently bought me stuff I didn't want.
Like for one Christmas, I wanted a ghostbusters toy (dr venkman), a raphael ninja turtle, GI-JOE for nintendo, and Creepy Crawlers among other things. This is what I got:
A mouser from Ninja Turtles, Egon from ghostbusters (that I already had), a GI-Joe action figure, Bible Adventures for the NES, and a CreepyCrawlers mold set (ALthough I asked for the oven, which is required for the molds to be used)
I never complained, I pretended to be happy and never made a fuss. But at that point, I realized that if I ever wanted to have my own things I would have to buy them myself. I got a job when I was 12, saved up, and moved out at 17. I now live two states away in Boston and tell my mom I don't want anything for my CHristmas or birthday and if she sends me things I give them away.
EDIT: WOW 5$ a day!?! I got 10$ a week!
