Poor kid, but he isn't the one buying it so it's her choice. Unless it was his birthday present lol then it should be his choice. Still, mother knows best. I'm pretty sure she didn't think the Wii was more powerful but had other motives to get a Wii (Wii Fit, more kid friendly). If I was the store clerk I would have probably done the same, it is her kid so you just agree with what they say.
