1.  Sequels don't sell on the Wii.  For example:

Rock Band: 1.32 mil, Rock Band 2: .61 mil

Boom Blox: .95 mil, Boom Blox: Bash Party: .08 mil

Pro Evolution Soccer '08:  .97 mil, Pro Evolution Soccer '09: .21 mil

Trauma Center: Second Opinion:  .57 mil, Trauma Center: New Blood .19 mil

Excite Truck: .89 mil, ExciteBots .05 mil

Super Mario Galaxy 8.02 mil, Super Mario Galaxy 2 0.00 mil

The reason for this is obvious...

Even Reggie admits that a new market is immerging...

2.  From the ashes of the old Blue Ocean a new Red Ocean has formed...

So what does this mean?  Well its obvious. Casual gamers are becoming more hardcore.  Red Ocean means exactly what it sounds like it means.  Casual gamers are no longer satisfied with simple gameplay and graphics.  The soccer moms are now out for blood!

So why didn't MadWorld sell you ask?  Well it's quite simple really.  Sega peaked too early.  They were just ahead of their time.  You see, Casuals didn't know what they would transform into until Reggie first mentioned the concept of Red Ocean.  But from that point on, there is no turning back.  I fully expect for this tranformed demgraphic to sweep in at any moment and make Atlus and NIS titles the top selling of this gen.

3.  Graphics

The transition of casual gamers to hardcore is happening at such a rapid pace that their insatiable appetitie for higher and higher resolutions is spinning out of control.  They are no longer satisfied with the sweet goodness of Ninjabreadman, now OMG only graphix that look better than Uncharted 2 will do.

4.  Wii MotionPlus

When casual players originally chose to support the Wii, they bought into all of the ads.  The Wii Remote would undoubtedly let you experience games like never before without all the complicated and confusing buttons.  But over time casual gamers eventually realized that in most Wii games waggling the Wii Remote was only a less accurate replacement for pressing a button.  So why is Wii MotionPlus listed as a reason why Wii Sports Resort will fail?  Well as seen in my previous point, casual gamers have made the transition to hardcore or the bloody bloody red ocean.  They no longer are intimidated by deep gameplay and lots of buttons.  They don't want Wii Sports Resort anymore.  Now they want Knights in the Nightmare.

They just didn't know it until Reggie told them.
