Basically, this is the same kind of thread as "Why do people like anime?" or "Why does everyone like RPG's so much". They throw everything on one big pile and say it's all the same ol' same ol'.
Just watch Fantasia and tell me you are not in awe of the painstakingly detailed, hand-drawn images on your screen. Remember that they didn't use computers way back in 1940 (!). I really think it is a piece of art... but then I'm a fan 
. I even like their box-office bombs from the eighties.(My 'name' King Eidilleg comes from The Black Cauldron after all.)
