You misunderstood. The point is that if the movies don't make their argument for you, nobody is going to be able to explain why they're great, because their virtues cannot be made apparent to you. It's not like "If you don't like this then you have no taste", it's more "if you don't like this, I don't know what to tell you".

And I can take all this higgledy piggledy about the characters and even the music, but by what metric could the animation possibly be considered "meh"? Do we have different understandings of what those words mean when strung together in that order?
