The game looked fine and still looks fine. It's a multilayer engine. If you are seriously concerned about the graphics of a CoD game, you should play a console shooter that actually does strive to look cutting edge. Killzone 2. The game play is incredibly similar and has just as good of an online system.
The issue is, CoD is more fun. And it will remain fun.
The engine looks fine. WaW was the series milk, I assure you MW2 will be a fully fledged title.
