I don't see how this refutes my claim that the majority of PSN users ignore Home and don't want/need it. I get that you like it, but that doesn't change the fact that the majority doesn't. Once again, the number of players is not limited by XBL or PSN. It is a game decision. And the whole FPS is best with 16 players or less is a majority oppinion. All you have to do is look at the number of games with lower player numbers and higher sales than the games with higher player numbers. What do you not understand? I am not giving my personal opinion, I'm giving the majority opinion. The demand for games like MAG is incredibly small in comparison to the standard Shooter with 16 players or less. Maybe that's why Resistance and Killzone sold much less than the usual shooter on 360 because the majority of shooter fans prefer the smaller size battles. Large battles always degrade to a mesy cluster-frack with no coordination. Your radio only gets you a few local stations, your web browser with youtube gets you low quality, limited to non-copyrighted materials. With Last.fm, Netflix, and Zune, I get everything at the most convenient source playing out of the best speakers in my house. Again, number of players is not a trait of the network service, but of the developers game design decision. XBL is not limited to small matches, people would just rather play those. The issue with BF1943 was because the 360 version had tons more players than the PSN version. They didn't have enough dedicated servers setup to handle the load because the 360 version just sold way better than the PSN counterpart. That's why yesterday and today it was having issues because they are still adding servers to meet the overwhelming demand that is "active users" on XBL There are more Free PSN accounts than Live Gold accounts. I never once challenged that logic. |
