They would not cut their profits by nearly as much as you might think. If they did drop development for the PS3, Activision would save on development costs, staff costs, licensing fees, publishing costs, marketing costs...hell even stationary costs, ulility costs etc. etc. We would never know but I think the cost to Activisions bottom line wouldn't not be MASSIVE unless their PS3 games are making them a fortune in !profit! They would also reduce their overall risk as -potentially- developming a game for the PS3 may be seen as carrying more risk than Wii or x360 games. Investors/Bankers/Venture Capitalists etc are usually much happier with this.
It's quite obvisously saber rattling but things like this are better said in Sony's case behind closed doors and not in the public.
