As Einstein's Theory of Relativity states, objects that travel near the speed of light have a different rate of time.  You could theoretically travel to the Andromeda Galaxy in a person's lifetime if the spaceship was traveling close to the speed of light, even though people on Earth would experience a time of millions of years.
