Because Sega spent alot of it's money on Making Games in all possible Genre's for consoles and Arcades. On top of competing in the arcade hardware biz. They used money faster then they made it...
MS was able to bring American Hardware to the forefront...Thus giving it's brand alot of recognition in NA and somewhat in UK.....
