Put me in other.

Its both good and bad by varying degrees depending on how different ones culture and language is to the immigrants and how fast people are immigrating. The faster the process the more difficulty in the short to mid term. Not to mention how bigoted the local population is has to be taken into account.

A person from England or New Zealand would have less trouble in Australia then say a person from Russia would for example due to the fact that both countries have common heritage with Australia, similar political systems and speak the same language.

However immigration helps significantly in regards to economy, food, culture etc. So there are definitely very strong advantages aswell. I couldn't live without french, thai, italian and japanese restaurants etc :P

So whilst I'm very much pro immigration, I think that nothing in life is a black and white issue, it really depends.
