Nintendo, in trouble? Imagine that starting today, both Nintendo's hardware and software sales completely dried up; they never sell another Wii, DS, or game again. If that happened, Nintendo would still be rolling around in mountains of cash for years to come. Nintendo has no risk of being "in trouble" for a long, long time.
As what will happen in the real world - instead of hypothetical what-ifs - Nintendo will have the best-selling console and handheld for the generation. Nintendo will also generate more profit this generation than any other gaming company. Declining hardware sales may cause Nintendo to "win" by a smaller margin, but the big picture won't change.
