As a general rule, if I buy a single player only game I will (probably) lend it out to 2 or more people before it ends up on my shelf as (more or less) a collector's item ... When you factor in people who rent or pirate games, having 3 Million people play a game based on 1.5 Million sales does not indicate that too many people bought a game used.
