See I knew I shouldn't have opened this topic again. Fine lets dissect this...
First, note I removed all the stupid ones, like those having to do with game delays. Games get delayed and its hardly the fault of a Nintendo exec who relied on the info they were given, not to mention the fact that they aren't the only ones who do it constantly.
Things that were just wrong...
-Wii is region free - Hey you got one!
-Wii won't launch last - I guess you have them here, by 2 whole days
Honest Mistakes....
-September Surprise - Something probably got delayed, it sucks, but it happens.
-Component cables in stores at launch - This was a failure of their partner's, and I hardly see why blaming Nintendo for that makes sense.
Non-Lies
-When you see the graphics of the Wii at launch you'll go "Wow" - Subjective
-Enhanced Wii with DVD movie playback coming to U.S. -They never gave a date, and as far as I can tell never said they stopped working on it.
-December 9th,2006 - one million more Wiis to U.S. before the end of the year - I don't see any reason to think they didn't meet this goal.
-More hardware secrets of Wii revealed at launch - Revealing info is bad?
In any case all of this is dwarfed easily by the RRoD debacle, the fact that you play it off as a minor deal is laughable. I hardly see how a company keeping a lie about how poorly built their product is from their consumer only to avoid having to do the right thing is anything but the worst kind of lying. But you can keep on rationalizing it to yourself. For me its more of a reason not to get a 360 than the RRoD problem.
Microsoft lies >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Nintendo lies
To suggest otherwise is to ignore whats right in front of you.
You know what nevermind, if you want to keep on patronizing a company that would knowingly sell you a faulty product in the hopes you wouldn't notice...keep on keepin on.
I can live with my purchase from a company that had to delay their launch a bit, and was at least trying to make their console region free.
I can really see how thats comparable too...knowingly selling a faulty product...and delaying your launch...yup so comparable.
