I think it doesn't matter. MS could release another 10 OS' with the same reviews Vista got, and what would it do? They'd lose a fraction of a fraction of a percent to other OS'? Face it, for a vast majority of users (Casual and PC buffs alike) MS is pretty much the only game in town.

Both MS and Apple took the same route this time it seems. More of a refinement, than any huge leap forward. Though I'm hearing 7 is almost a glorified service pack, that you're paying at least $50 for. Not sure what the final review on Snow Leopard is, only that to upgrade for current users is only about $30. But again, more of a refinement (Focusing on speed, and taking up less room on your HDD) than a totally new OS.
