Opera is a nice browser.  It's basically a middle-weight in terms of performance/speed (though very speedy js handling).  I used it for a while and wasn't disappointed.  In the end I went back to Firefox.  Opera has a lot of nifty widgets that make it pretty fun to experiment with but Firefox's plugin library is still too nice to live without IMO.

I want safari's speed but without the whole choking on gifs and spinning beachballs of rainbow death.

Oh well, I'll give it a try. And check out that chromium stuff...
