That and Halo 3 supports 4-way split-screen which consumes quite a lot of GPU power and RAM.

Another thing which should be taken into account is framerate. Games like Ninja Gaiden 2 may look like they have slightly worse graphics than some other games (even though graphics look really good), but they're running at 60 fps unlike most games which run at 30 fps.
