sure making money is great, but what difference does that make to you as a gamer?

Infamous and Prototype are two new IP's, it was a toss up which would end up better. On the other hand God of War is a well established franchise with a history of quality versus a new IP. I can't imagine the logic that would go behind betting on the new IP.

I'm not sure what you mean by "betting" on DI?  I think there is a strong possibility that GOW3 will be the superior product, and if marketed correctly, could deliver solid numbers.  As we've seen with Gears aof War and Assasin's Creed, new IP doesn't mean average results...so at this point, I'm not "placing bets" on what the final state of DI will be for quality and sales...I said, and I think it looks promising at this point.

WRT to sales, it matter ALOT as a gamer, since top performers get top billing for resources from the studios.  The name of the game is ROI, so you don't get points for being a favorite of a small group of players.  Unlike some, I don't think M$ has done too much with Halo...in fact, to me, it's not doing enough.  If sales aren't important, why does VGC report sales weekly, in those America Up...Japan Up...PAL UP are usually hot topics.  Seems like for a gaming site called Video Games Chartz, somebody thought it important to chart games performance...discussions of quality are important, but so are sales, imho.
