Games can still be great to play even if they dont sell 10 million. |
Sales don't have a direct link to how much fun a game delivers, but there is a indirect connection. I'm sure GOW3 will be great, but I'm a little confused by the comments that somehow GOW3 will be untouchable...using what metric? Comparatively, I said Prototype would top infamous n sales, and it's done it...I've played the demo for infamous, and it was fun, so I'm not saying the game is bad, just that poster on this site confuse that with sales projections...and that's a really incorrect trend that continue, even with a mountain of evident striking it down. If you tell me FF13 will unbelievably chart like crazy (ie. MGS4 type numbers )on the ps3, I can believe it, but to say GOW3, or Uncharted 2, or KZ2 or R2 as many people did, is just pure comedy at this point.

the original comment was probably saying that Dante's Inferno should not be compared to GoW3 because it is highly unlikely to be of comparable quality, and had nothing at all to do with sales.

Well...wrt to quality, I think we'd have to wait and see...infamous was an exclusive, and prototype wasn't...and to say that it's out of prototype's league is a totally wrong statement. Will GOW3 be graphically superior to Dante's...probably, but is it going to be so superior it's not a comparison...time will tell, but I'll point out again, these games are made to make money, and that's a very important factor in determine the value of the final product.
