Try Samsung or LG TV's they are just as good as the average sony. Of course if you are willing to buy the best TV and don't care about price then you could go with the latest sony models.
I have a 40" Full HD samsung and when I compared it to the sony's equivalent model (which was 300€ more expensive) The difference was so minimal that I actually tought the samsung's cheaper TV was even better. I got mine for 800€ while the sony would have been around 1100€. Some sony models blur when picture changes and it might hinder some fast tempoed games, usually the cheapest models.
