You forgot the best part in the op! This upgrade isn't like a normal OS upgrade. Upon confirming that you already own Windows, you can either upgrade from Vista to 7, or do a fresh install!
Upgrading usually leads to a number of problems down the line, which is why it's awesome that this upgrade pack allows you to do a fresh install.
At first I was highly skeptical of Windows 7, but from the looks of it it's basically Vista with a few more features, a few less bugs, and less resource requirements overall. In other words, it's what Vista should've been, and the ability to "upgrade" via a clean install for only $50 is one hell of a deal for the package.
