Depends on the game really. I loved the poodoo out of Spider-man 3 Wii for a few days. I had not played a Spidey game since N64 and loved the swinging effect. I had so much fun with that I over looked the sucktacular game until I realized it was most amusing as a web-swinging sim.

Conversly, Masters of Orion took some getting used to with all that micro mangement, and the second game was really intense- even though I had played the first. Once I stuck with it I loved the game so much it is still on my computer. Moo II forever. I find that with turn based - and RTS also- I have to play long enough to try out the factions and lose repeatedly until I master it. Then the game starts to get fun.
