May 09 - Activision states that CoD 4 MW is at 13 million on all platforms. At this point of time it is at 11.6 million at Xbox360 and PS3 combined. You do the math what might be left for the PC version. And remember there are 500k Nintendo DS as well.

so 900k PC games sold for the PC in May 09. CoD 4 must have had a CRAZY month this June.

When Activision claimed COD4 sold 7 millions, they only took into account the sales from the top western console-centric countries and very few PC-centric markets: North America, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Benelux. They could've very well done the same for the 13 millions figure, which would basically shrink the retail sales of the PC version tracked because it wouldn't include dozens of PC-centric countries.

Another thing is that I have never seen Activision include or mention the digital sales of their games on anything. So I'm not sure they would make an exception for COD4.

The fact that the numbers come out as only 900k for the PC version should tell you that something's definitely not right. Do you really think that a game like COD4, which was the number 1 PC game for months in both retail and digital top sellers (and still shows up in top sellers sometimes) would sell only 900k?! Hell, let me show you this:

According to NPD:

COD4 was 5th best selling PC game in 2007 in US (383k sold)
COD4 was 6th best selling PC game in 2008 in US (unknown, but probably between 350k-400k)

You're telling me that COD4 sold less than 200k outside of US?! So how do you explain to me how COD4 is the 2nd most played PC game today, according to Xfire?

so CoD 4 sold like 800k in US according to NPD (in 2 years) and it probably sold nothing at all in Japan and you STILL claim, this game sold 10 million worldwide? So you think this game sold 9 million copies in Europe? Come on...
