To be honest S.T.A.G.E was right about the fact that Final Fantasy is so far from what the original meaning for RPG is, that because it's refered to as an RPG people use that as their point of origin. When actually Bioware and Bethesda games are the closest games to the actual RPG definition. So Mass Effect with it's shooting system, custom character, choices and leveling system are all spot on. The only element of FF for example that is RPG is the level system. EVERYTHING else is not RPG, but general adventure. |
That is interesting...never knew that. So I've been avoiding RPG games like the plauge due to my general displeasure with FF series...for nothing? :)
Mass Effect is the type of game I have a feeling id enjoy if I could get some alone time or more free time to play. I played it only for a couple of hours cause every time I go on to play it...id get a halo 3 incite here, street fighter invite there...couldn't even get down to playing it more than 15 mins at a time.
