I hope not, I hated the VR headsets back in the day. I think the biggest concern is radiation near the brain. If they coudl develop a simple band that used reflection instead of a transmitter/receiver, like a simple light reflection that requires no computer/digital pieces to emit radiation, and was no thicker/heavier than a headband, it might be feasible.
