I have no problem with anyone enjoying a bad movie. But I do object to $200 million dollars being used to make one, $200 million dollars that I would rather see spent on making good movies.
Only so many movies can be made a year, there is only so much money to go around to fund them, people to make them, theatre slots to show them.
Personally, with that amount of money, etc. then I expect the level of effort to be taken to deliver at least a good action movie.
Although, given you have a finite lifetime, wouldn't you rather spend it on something good than something bad? If you had the choice, wouldn't you rather have given your time to something of the quality of say Raiders vs Transformers 2?
Now admitedly most people change their views with age, and at 43 (shit!) I simply won't give my time to anything that's not good, be it food, music, movies, etc. and that of course informs my views.
Of course, with kids, I do occasionally find myself watching something like Transformers 2, although at least the time was spent enjoying being with my kids so it wasn't all a waste.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
