Wow, I didn't think there was this much anti-physics card sentiment out there. This post has only been up for like 10 minutes =P

I think the PPU idea will survive but I don't think the future of the technology is as a seperate solution. I think it will live on as an integrated solution. I see Ageia either dying a slow painful death or being bought out by an AMD or Intel type company. Ultimately I think eventually physics will recieve a dedicated core for its calculations, but it could be 2 years until that is widespread or it could be 10 years. It all depends on what happens in the next 12 months imo.
