yes they are. i can count on one hand all the good pllatformers(true platformers) that came out this gen.

Are they dying compared to last gen? Or the gen before? I'd argue not, even if most of the sales come from Nintendo nowadays.

Little Big Planet is great for co-op, though New Super Mario Bros. Wii may end up being better. Super Mario Galaxy and New Super Mario Bros. are the best single player experiences I've had from platformers.

Unless you count re-releases, in which case Super Star Ultra conquers the world again.
