If I can be as general as possible? Going by previous games of the franchise?

- Graphics
(GT has always been king in visuals historically speaking).

- Game Content
(GT has always been king in regards to sheer amount of content and let's face it, in a racing game content is everything).

- Car Damage
(Forza has had this where as Gran Turismo hasn't).

- Car Manufacturer backing / licensing
(Again Gran Turismo has this. For example, Mitsubishi was using the Gran Turismo game engine to do tests for their actual cars). This is huge for racing fans, especially with the inclusion of Nascar and others.

- Game Polish
(Some might say quality but I would say polish is the better word. Gran Turismo is one of those practically bullet proof games that is completely polished. Everything from the menus to the music is sleek, stylish and perfected. Every last detail has been thought of. Forza while a great game just has never had this level of attention to detail. To some people that may not matter but the polish difference between the two games is immense in my opinion.

Overall both are good games with their advantages and disadvantages. Gran Turismo has been a selling power house for a reason though and much of that is due to overall quality from top to bottom.
