But anyway: This is about the German Team, which did a impressive job yesterday. I really hope to see some of them being future stars.

If you re-read your quote you'll find out, that this is about protecting the 3rd verse, not forbidding the 1st verse.

The problem with the hymn is the historical context. Germany is quite a young nation, just founded 1871. The text of the hymn was written in the 1840ies, when the land-marks they where talking about, where simply the landmarks Germans lived within. But yeah this has been misused.

Hummels did an awesome job. I am sooo happy BVB transfered him. 5 million Euros is a bargain for such a talent. First game after a 6 months injury and he plays just godlike. Özil could do whatever he wanted in the offensive, Hummels secured him perfectly.
