If you re-read your quote you'll find out, that this is about protecting the 3rd verse, not forbidding the 1st verse. The problem with the hymn is the historical context. Germany is quite a young nation, just founded 1871. The text of the hymn was written in the 1840ies, when the land-marks they where talking about, where simply the landmarks Germans lived within. But yeah this has been misused.
Btt.: you'll hear from many of them. Keep an eye on the goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (1st keeper at Schalke 04 for over 2 years now, 1 A-national-team cap), defensive-midfielder Sami Khedira (VfB Stuttgart), the offensive-midfielders Mesut Özil (Werder Bremen, 1 A-cap) and Marko Marin (moving to Werder Bremen, 6 A-caps) and the defenders Benedikt Höwedes (Schalke 04, made it into the first team last season and stayed there) and Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund). |
Hummels did an awesome job. I am sooo happy BVB transfered him. 5 million Euros is a bargain for such a talent. First game after a 6 months injury and he plays just godlike. Özil could do whatever he wanted in the offensive, Hummels secured him perfectly.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
