everyone is seeing the WiiHD as a new more power console from Nintendo, but what if Nintendo follow what they've done with their DSi system?

What if WiiHD as everyone is calling it is simply an ordinary Wii but with a built in upscaler and more built in flash memory?

This way developers won't be affected at all as they won't have access to the upscaler so to them the hardware is the same, but to a consumer if they own a HD tv it would be an excellent choice, because now they won't be penalised for owning a HDtv....also it'll be cheaper for Nintendo todo and they can further prolong the systems life....well all know how cheap Nintendo is, hell the wii CPU and GPU is 10 year old tech and it's dirt cheap but does the job.

Substitute "upscaler" with "slightly newer GPU/system software that can render the existing Wii games at 720p with some AA" - just like the PC emulator does - and I think this could very well be a viable and quite painless upgrade for those who are happy with the Wii, but not with its output on bigger HD screens.

PS: to answer the OP no, I wouldn't. The Wii resolution is not a deal breaking issue for me.
