Side Scrollers are making a big comeback thanks to the DS and Wii.  There's a number of good looking 2D and 2.5D side scrollers coming out this year for DS, Wii and WiiWare.  Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Picollo, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, New Super Mario Bros Wii and A Boy and His Blob all look very promising for Wii.
